Devi Durga Aarati

Durga means "the inaccessible" or "the invincible"; durga) is a form of Devi. The supremely radiant goddess is depicted as having eighteen arms, riding a lion or a tiger, carrying weapons and a lotus flower, maintaining a meditative smile, and practicing mudras, or symbolic hand gestures.

Durga is worshiped in various forms like Tulaja Bhavani, Amba, Renuka, Yamai, Saptshrungi, Jogai, Maha Gauri, Chamundeshwari etc.

Nine aspects of Durga, known as Navadurga, are worshiped in Durga Puja or Dashain in places like Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and Nepal.
